In Oldham County "Record of School Census Reports #2" on page 106, dated May 12, 1906 it listed New NEAL as the parent of Marshall NEAL (DOB May 4, 1894).

In the 1910 Oldham County, Ky. census (ED 73, Sheet 6A) it had: James N. NEAL (head, male, white, age 42, married once for 20 years, POB Ky. as it was for both of his parents,occupation farmer on a farm with a mortgage, and he could read & write); Mattie (wife,female, white, age 39, married once for 20 years, had 5 children with 5 still living, POB Ky.as it was for both of her parents, and she could read & write); Roy (son, male, white, age 17,single, POB Ky., occupation laborer on a farm, attended school, and he could read & write); Marshall (son, male, white, age 16, single, POB Ky., attended school, and he could read and write); Newtis? James Marshall and Libby gave birth to their first child. Marshall Neal was born June 4, 1936 in Louisville, Jefferson County. According to Marshall's birth certificate (Vol. 54 and Cert. # 26542) Marshall Neal was born at 2:55pm at Saint Anthony Hospital. His full name as reported on his birth certificate was Marshall Lee Neal. Marshall's father was listed as James Marshall Neal from Crestwood, Kentucky. At the time of Marshall's birth, James, his father, was 39 years old and was born in Louisville, Kentucky. James Marshall worked as an automobile mechanic at Walling Motor Company at the time of Marshall Lee's birth and had been working there since 1924. According to the birth certificate, Marshall Lee's mother was Margaret Elizabeth Bush and was 23 years old at the time of his birth. Margaret Elizabeth who was born in Danville, ILL worked as a housewife. Marshall Lee was their first child.

James William Neal was born in Louisville, Kentucky on October 15, 1938. Edythe Carol Neal was born in Louisville, Kentucky on March 10, 1947

On February 6, 1949 his father, James Newton Neal passed away. "The Oldham Era" obituary read: "JAMES N. NEAL DIES AT RESIDENCE AT WORTH James Newton NEAL, retired farmer of the Worth community, died in his 82nd year at 6:15 o'clock Sunday morning at his residence after an illness a year of the infirmities of age. He had lived in the county all his life. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Mattie B. NEAL; a daughter, Mrs. Neutie B. PATTERSON of Louisville; four sons, Thomas NEAL of Ohio, Ernest and Roy NEAL of Louisville an Marshall NEAL of Worth; a half-brother, R. Perry NEAL of LaGrange; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

On November 30, 1954 his mother, Mattie Belle Neal (Doak) passed away. Her obituary read, "Mrs. Mattie Belle Neal. Mrs. Mattie Belle Doak Neal, 82, deid at 3:45am yesterday at her home in Crestwood. She was a member if Mount Tabor Methodist Church. Survivors are a daughter, O.J. Patterson; four sones, Thomas Neal, Columbus Ohio, Roy, Ernest, and Marshall Neal; nine grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren. The funeral will be at 2 pm tomorrow at Stoess Funeral Home, Crestwood. Burial wil be in Mount Tabor Cemetery."

On Apr 6, 1957 her eldest son, Marshall Lee Neal married Linda Morris in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. One year later, in 1958 Linda gave birth to Michelle Pye Neal, Libby's first grandchild.

In the Kentucky Death Index, 1911-2000 it had "Name: Roy F Neal; Death Date: 24 August 1958; Death Place: Jefferson; Age: 66; Residence: Jefferson; Volume 35, Certificate 17476." Roy's Courior Journal obituary had: "NEAL, Roy Freeman, in his 67th year, at General Hospital , Sunday August 24, 1958, at 8 a.m. residence, 188 Coral Avenue. Beloved husband of Mrs. Nellie Stout NEAL, devoted father of Mrs. Dorothy Zur SCHMAIDE and Mr. Freemen NEAL; also survived by 8 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. O. J. PATTERSON; 3 brothers, Earnest, Marshall, and Thomas NEAL. Funeral services Tuesday, August 28, at 2 p.m., at M. A. Steem and Sons Funeral Home, Crestwood. Interment, Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

On October 1961 WILLIAM H BUSH. William H. Bush, a retired meatcutter for the Brown Hotel died at his home, 332 E St. Catherine. He was 73 and was a member of Immaniel Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Lora Mae Bailey; two daughters, Mrs. Marshall Neal and Mrs. Walter Stinson; two sons, Robert and Ralph Bush; a sister, Mrs. Nanny Johnson, Elizabethtown; 13 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren. The Funeral will be at 9:30am Wednesday at Arch L Heady Funeral Home, 1201 E Oak, and at 11am at Mount Zion Babtist Chrurch near Elizabethtown. Burial will be in Hardin Memorial Cemetery.

In 1964 Marshall and Linda get a divorce. That same year Marshall Lee marries Judy Sharon Jewell in Clark County, Indiana. On July 31, 1965 Judy gives birth to Lisa Kay Neal.

On February 1968 James Lee Neal is born and on March 21, 1970 Marshall Allen Neal is born.

In the 1972 obituary of her mother's, she was Mrs. Elizabeth NEAL, Crestwood, Ky.

On August 16, 1973 Carol Black gave birth to Rocky and Carol's first daughter, Staci Renee Black. On April 18, 1979 their second daughter, Carrie Lea Black was born.

The following Obituary was released from Radcliff Funeral Home, Mr. Marshall Neal, age 91 of 3308 West Highway 22 (Centerfield) Crestwood passed away Monday morning, July 22, 1985 at the Baptist Hospital, East, Louisville. Mr. Neal was a Oldham County Native the son of the late James Newton and Mattie Belle Doak Neal. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor Methodist Church. An Army veteran of World War I. Mr Neal was a retired auto mechanic having been employed by the former Riebel Chevrolet and Ellis Motor Company and Smiser and Carter. He is survived by his wife the former Libby Bush, a daughter - Mrs. Rocky (Carol) Black, Crestwood; 2 sons, Mr. Marshall L. Neal of Fort Lauderdale, FL and Mr. J. W. Neal, Campbellsburg, KY; 7 Grandchildren and 1 great grandchildren; Funeral Services were conducted at 2:00 pm Thursday, July 25th at theRadcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange by the Rev Richard Hollioway, pastor of the Mt. Tabor UMC. Interment was in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

His funeral home "In Memory" card gave the following information: Name Marshall NEAL; DOD Monday, July 22 1985 in Louisville, Ky.; Services Thursday, July 25, 1985, Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange, Ky.; Interment Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Centerfield, Kentucky

His Tuesday, July 23, 1985, Courier-Journal obituary read: "Marshall NEAL, 91, of Crestwood, died Monday at Baptist Hospital East. He was a native of Oldham County, a retired auto mechanic, an Army veteran of World War I and a member of Mount Tab United Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, the former Libby BUSH; a daughter, Mrs. Carol BLACK of Crestwood; two sons, Marshall L. NEAL of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and J. W. NEAL of Campbellsburg; several grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Radcliffe Funeral Home in La Grange, with burial in Mount Tabor Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be after 3 p.m. Tuesday."

Henry County Local---July 25, 1985, it said "Marshall Neal, 91, of Crestwood, died Monday, July 22, 1985, at the Baptist East Hospital, Louisville. He was a native of Oldham County, a member of the Mount Tabor United Methodist Church, an army Veteran of WWI and a retired auto mechanic. He is survived by his wife: Mrs. Libby Bush Neal, Crestwood; one daughter: Mrs. Rocky (Carol) Black, Crestwood; two sons: Marshall L. Neal, Ft. Lauderdale, FL and J. W. Neal, Campbellsburg; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday, July 25th at the Radcliffe Funeral Home, LaGrange. Rev. Richard Holloway, pastor of Mount Tabor Church, officiated. Interment was in the Mount Tabor Cemetery.
