Single, Place of birth: Kentucky as were both her parents)."

On February 20, 1937 Dorothy, age 17, married William F. Zur Schmeide Jr, age 18 in Louisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky. William was the son of William Fredrick Zur Scheide Sr and Virgina Allen. The Courier Journal published the following wedding annoiuncement in February 1937, "Miss Dorothy Stout Neal. Mr and Mrs. Roy F. Neal, 1515 Melwood Ave., announce the engagement of their daughter, Miss Dorothy Stout Neal, to Mr. William F. Zur Schmeide, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Zur Schmeide. The wedding will b solemnized on February 20."

Dorothy's father died on August 24, 1958 in Louisville, Jefferson County, KY. His Courior Journal obituary had: "NEAL, Roy Freeman, in his 67th year, at General Hospital , Sunday August 24, 1958, at 8 a.m. residence, 188 Coral Avenue. Beloved husband of Mrs. Nellie Stout NEAL, devoted father of Mrs. Dorothy Zur SCHMAIDE and Mr. Freemen NEAL; also survived by 8 grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. O. J. PATTERSON; 3 brothers, Earnest, Marshall, and Thomas NEAL. Funeral services Tuesday, August 28, at 2 p.m., at M. A. Steem and Sons Funeral Home, Crestwood. Interment, Mt. Tabor Cemetery.

Dorothy's mother, Nellie Katherine Neal (Stout) passed away on September 1972 in Loisville, Jefferson County, Kentucky.

In 1977 William F. Zur schmeide died at the age of 58.

On November 19, 2011 Dorothy passed away in Shelby County, Kentucky. Dorothy's obituary had, "Dorothy S. Zurschmeide Duncan, age 91, of Louisville passed away Thursday afternoon. She was born January 22, 1920 in Louisville, the daughter of Roy and Nellie Stout Neal, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her first husband William Zurschmeide; her second husband, Keith Duncan; one brother, Freeman Neal; and a sister-in-law Marie Neal. Dorothy worked as a buyer for Bacon's Department Store, St. Matthews and had previously attended Crescent Hill Christian Church. She leaves to cherish her memory one daughter, Barbara Stewart; one granddaughter, Amy Stewart; one grandson, Scott Stewart; one great-grandson, A.J. Stewart; a niece, Darlene Neal, and a nephew, Ronald Neal. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted at 12:00 PM on Saturday, November 19, 2011 in the Arch L. Heady at Resthaven Chapel. Interment will follow at Mt. Tabor Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and caregivers at Regis Woods Nursing Home for the wonderful care they provided Dorothy.
