In the Oldham County Index of Marriages (1824-1957), it had "12-23-1851 NEAL, MARSHALL to LONG, MARTHA" In "Oldham County Marriage Licenses 1850 - 53" it had an entry for Marshall NEAL and Martha LONG, the daughter of Robert LONG. Marshall NEAL and John POWELL were on the bond which was dated December 15, 1851. In "Oldham County Marriage Bonds Book One" page 144 it had an entry for a minister's return for Marshal NEAL and Martha LONG who he married on December 23, 1851. Martha's sister Elizabeth also was married at the same time.

LONG; Residence _____; Age 17; First Marriage; Place of Birth Shelby County."The 1856 marriage record could not be located in Oldham County. In the "Oldham County Index of Deeds 1825 - 67" it had: Date: Dec. 11, 1858; Grantee: NEAL, Marshall; Grantor: James JOHNSON & wife; Acres: 196; Waters: ___?; Book: K; Page: 55." An Oldham County Deed Book Index had "BOOK L 1860-1864 MARSHALL NEAL to H. D. SPEER ... pg 96 MARSHALL NEAL " ISAAC LONG .9. pg 97, JAMES H NEAL " SUSAN ANN LAYSON ... pg 135, MARSHALL NEAL It S J LONG ... pg 400, MARSHALL NEAL " J N LONG ... pg 403, MARSHALL NEAL " J N LONG .9. pg 404 In the Oldham County Deed Book L (1860-1864), it had "This Indenture made and entered into on this the 30th day of December 1861 by and between Marshall NEAL and Amelia A. NEAL, his wife of the one part and Isaac N. LONG of the other part All of the bounds of Oldham and state of Kentucky. Witnes, that the said NEAL and wife for and consideration of the sum of eight hundred and eighteen dollars to them in cash in hands said the receipt of which is handy acknowledged have this day bargained and so and do by these presents grant, bargain, sell, alien and confirm and convey the said LONG his heirs and assigns forever a tract or parcel of land lying and being in Oldham County and state aforesaid on the border of Floyds fort and bounded as follow Viz. Beginning at a Dogwood stump barnes to said LONG, thence N20 W69 poles to a swamp ash and Walnut, thence S70 W57 poles to a stone corner to LONG. Thence, S61 W67 poles to a shine in Real and OLEGSBY line, thence _84 E13 par to the beginning containing seventy seven poles, one quarter. To have and to hold the above named described and bounded tract or parcel of lands together with all and singular the _____________________- belonging to them. Will Book 8" page 563 it had: "I Marshall NEAL of Oldham County Ky being sound in body and mind do hereby make and publish this my last Will and Testament in manners and form as follows. I Will and bequeath to my daughter Magg HITT and her heirs (30) thirty acres of land to be taken off my land joining the lands of Thos CASSADY? and Kulfus? HITT to be inters? interest in my estate and the ballance (sic) of my land to be divided equally between the ballance (sic) of my children after my just debts are paid and my wife Nannie NEAL thinks are set apart and S(h)e? to hold during her life time or widow hood in case either death or marriage her part to be divided equally between all my children except Maggie HITT want? wife to have the privaledge (sic) of taken (sic) her things off the land joining Centerfield. I also want Perry NEAL my son to have the privaledge (sic) of taken the stock of goods at Worth at its Valuation, and my wife Nannie NEAL to be his guardian without bond, as part of Perry's interest. - In the "Oldham County Ky. Court Order Book 3 1838 - 1849" on page 354, dated Oct. 21, 1844, it said "On the motion of Mariah NEAL and she having entered into bond in the penalty of twelve hundred dollars conditioned according to law which bond is approved by the court. Said Mariah NEAL is appointed guardian of _____ (Marshall?) NEAL infant orphan of Fielding NEAL, decd."
In the "Oldham County Ky. Court Order Book 3 1838 - 1849" on page 447 it said "On motion of Thomas DUNAWAY and Martha DUNAWAY his wife, Mary MATHEWS and Maria NEAL guardian for George NEAL, Marshall NEAL, Naomia NEAL, and Elizabeth NEAL, is ordered that Marshall POWELL, Thomas B. OGLESBY and William C. CAPLUNGH? be and they are hereby appointed Commissioners who being sworn are required to divide the lands and slaves of Fielding NEAL, decd; ____? Maria NEAL having relinquished her right thereto among the heirs of O? Fielding NEAL at whom instance motion is made that they report to this court."
In the Oldham County Deed Book F (1844-1849) page 527, it had "We the undersigned commissioners appointed by the Oldham County court at their January Term 1847 to divide the lands and slaves of Fielding NEAL decd, among his heirs, report that we did on the 26th day of January, after laying off to Mrs. NEAL, widow of said decedant (sic) fifty acres of land and setting aside to her two of the slaves, Mariah & Tillman agreeably to former arrangement, which she agreed to take in lein of her Dower and estate the said fifty acres bounded as follows. Beginning at the Honey Locust, thence with OGLEBY's line S20 E to two Dogwoods, thence 70 E60 thence N20 W125 par to a stone, thence S70 W67.5. We proceeded to make the division and allotment as follows, viz ........ Lot #3: Allotted to Marshall NEAL bundled as follows. Beginning at the corner to lot 2, thence with a line of the same, S20 E23 pole to a stone, thence N70 E84 poles to a stone. ........... (No. 3) We allot to Marshall NEAL, Edmond, valued at $375. This lot has to receive from Lot #4 $8.33 and 1/3 cents. (No. 4) - we allot to George NEAL - Bartlett, values at $250, and Thomas values at $200. This lot has to pay to lot No. 6 $58.33 and 1/3 cents and to Lot #5 $8.33 and 1/3 cents. (No. 5) We allot to Mary MATHES, which she has received, one Negro boy Edmond valued at $250, and money to amounting in all to #325, which lot has to receive from Lot No. 1 $41.66 and 2/3 cents and from Lot 4 eighteen dollars and sixty and 2/3 cents. (No.6) we allot to Mrs. Martha DUNNAWAY, which she has received, one Negro girl, Emily valued at $250, and other property amounting in all to $325., which lot has to receive from Lot No. 4 Fifty Eight Dollars and Thirty three cents. In Oldham County Records, Volume 1, Cemeteries by McKECHNIE & DENT it had listed for the Camden Lane Pleasant Hill Church: "Marshall NEAL11-9-18303-11-1905."
I found Camden Lane Pleasant Hill Church off Hwy 22 in Oldham County.. There is no longer a church, only a over grown cemetery. The tombstone reads, "Marshall NEAL, b. Nov 9, 1830 d. Nov 1, 1905. On the tombstone is had "Asleep with Jesus."
In the History of Kentucky, Volume 6 by PERRIN it had "Marshall NEAL is a native of Oldham County, and was born November 9, 1830. Fielding NEAL, his father, was also a native of Oldham County, and married Miss Maria MARSHALL, of Woodford County. John NEAL, the grandfather of Marshall NEAL, was a farmer and a veteran of the Revolution, who came from Virginia in 1796 and located in Woodford County, Ky., moved to Jefferson and finally settled in Oldham County. Marshall NEAL has always been a farmer, and now owns 500 acres of well improved land near Ballardsville. He was first married, in 1850, to Miss Martha LONG, who died in 1853. He next married Miss Amelia LONG, a sister of his deceased wife, in 1856, and this lady died in 1866, leaving five children: Thomas, Robert, Newton, Sallie and Belle. Mr. NEAL's third marriage was in 1868 to Miss Nannie ARNOLD, and to this union two children have been born: Fannie and Perry. Mr. NEAL is a member of the Christian Church, and in politics is a Democrat."
